Week2 Wrap up

Another hard base week is done. Last year, I was doing 8-9 hour weeks. This year, I'm already doing 10-12 hour weeks.
  • Focusing on keeping focus.... no checking out. Focusing on proper hand entry into the water. Focusing on proper arm swing while running. Focusing on peddleing all the way through the stroke.
  • Already scheduled my massage for the step back week. The problem with having a good therapist is that they are BUSY!
  • Pounded out some serious watts yesterday. Good thing since coach scheduled a bike test for the step back week.
  • Week was extra busy since I had an obedience walk through with Shelby. Also, the food delivery was all messed up due to an illness in the organizers family. Looking forward to life working like clock work this week.
  • Dog show Saturday. Shelby scored well in all of the exercises EXCEPT off leash healing where she lost her confidence again. She managed to pull herself together for the recall giving me a nice front sit and then an actual finish!
  • Beautiful morning run this morning.47* at the start. No need for the jacket I wore. Just a short sleeve cotton shirt was enough.

Week1 Wrap Up

PHEW! The first week in the first base block is done. Grumpy was on a business trip and then took a short ski trip so besides all the other things I need to do, I also had his household "chores". But, all the work outs got done and I managed to keep shaving off ounces of weight.

Thoughts about the week:
  • 37* at the start of the run with the sun out. Long sleeved Lululemon swifty, running jacket, and gloves were a tad too much. Short sleeve swifty would have been perfect.
  • Need to ice the knees after rides and running.
  • Losing weight is like running a race - don't focus on the outcome focus on the process.
